LIUNA Chicago Laborers' District Council Statement on the Killing of George Floyd

LIUNA Chicago Laborers’ District Council and our affiliated Locals share the pain and outrage over the Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd.

We are united in our belief that we must, as a Labor movement use our strength to fight back against police brutality, to end racist and other discriminatory practices and policies, and all forms of racial and social injustice.

To all those protesting and grieving, we see you, we hear you and we are with you.

LIUNA Chicago Laborers’ District Council wholeheartedly encourages and supports our members who honor George Floyd’s memory by using their right to peacefully protest to push for racial justice and police reform.

Together, we will focus our resolve to hold our current elected officials accountable, and to elect local, state, and federal leaders who share and will uphold our values of equality, dignity, and justice for all.
