LIUNA Cheers Bipartisanship on Senate Infrastructure Deal
August 3, 2021 - Contractors CLDC LMCC LECETWashington, D.C. (August 2, 2021) – Terry O’Sullivan, General President of LIUNA – the Laborers’ International Union of North America – made the following statement today:
LIUNA members have been on the frontlines advocating for lawmakers at every level to invest more in our nation’s infrastructure to build our communities, grow our economy and create good jobs.
The bipartisan group of Senators who worked with the Biden Administration to achieve agreement on the infrastructure package now being considered have proven that there are no Democratic or Republican bridges or roads and that clean drinking water and a better environment is good for all Americans.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework will ensure better futures for millions of American families. These bold investments will lift up communities, address the backlog in vital infrastructure projects, improve the environment, and create good jobs.
LIUNA members are ready to get to work rebuilding this great nation’s vital infrastructure . . . it’s time for Congress to get to work and come together to build a bipartisan majority to make the investments necessary.
We will keep up the pressure until the full Senate and House vote for passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework so we can Build Back Better for working families.
